The Art of Point-and-Click Adventure Games

A visual celebration of one of the most loved genres in gaming history, The Art of Point-and-Click Adventure Games is a sumptuous, 500 page, hardback coffee table book packed with the very best pixel art and classic scenes from the games that most define this genre.

The Art of Point-and-Click Adventure Games also contains over 50 extensive and exclusive interviews with the key developers, designers and artists behind some of the most beloved games and characters in the history of the medium, such as Al Lowe, Éric Chahi, Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer. It has a foreword by Gary Whitta, editor of PC Gamer magazine and storywriter on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, followed by a detailed history of the Point-and-Click genre.

Just some of the classic titles featured are King’s Quest, Myst, Toonstruck, Discworld, Blade Runner, Gabriel Knight, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Simon the Sorcerer, The Secret of Monkey Island, The Dig, Maniac Mansion and Full Throttle. All of the most famous and iconic point-and-click adventures are covered, as well as some lesser-known games and home-brew efforts.

It also covers the origins of the hardware, the vibrant demo scene, interviews with artists and profiles of the most prominent games publishers. Presented using high-quality lithographic printing on superior paper stock, this book is a wonderful celebration of the machine’s graphics prowess and a reminder of the wealth of quality games the Amiga brought to bear. The title is available as a hardback only and comes in a protective shrink wrap.

Worth the wait 01/04/2021

Shipping was super quick. Delivery, not so much but that's not on T-Molding. Christmas season in a pandemic wasn't kind to many of us. I finally got my book after a month and the packaging was amazing. I frequently order books from Amazon and end up with a book just thrown in a box with a couple of plastic pillows, resulting in dented bindings and corners.
This book was wrapped in it's original plastic, rolled in thick layers of heavy plastic and then a layer of bubble wrap, resulting in my purchase arriving in immaculate condition.
10/10, would order from them again.
