Tile Installation10/26/2018 ByNorman William Bailey I installed two new garden windows in the kitchen. The internal surface of the window's shelf was originally covered with tile that matched the rest of the kitchen. The original tile was removed in a single block and preserved for the new window. When it was installed there was a gap between the window sill tile and the garden window tile that had been replaced. Also the two tile groups were mismatched in elevation by about 1/8". Colored modeling clay was pressed in the horizontal gap. A length of the 1" T-molding was cut to go from edge to edge of the window sill mating area. It was pressed into the clay and now the two misaligned pies of tile look like that are perfectly matched. We did the sale thing with 3/4" T-molding (20') on a second window & I sent you pictures of that some time ago. We searched a long time on the Internet to find a solution for our mismatched tile surface installation problem and T-molding was the perfect solution and the color even matches the tile.
